You're invited to a Menu Premier featuring the flavors of Hamelin Germany February 25th

Our next menu premier takes us to the town of Hamelin Germany. The town is best known for the tale of the Pied Piper of Hamelin made famous by The Brothers Grimm. We chose this region not only because of its beauty but it is also the hometown of a special friend of the restaurant.

Chef Ken has put together another exciting menu that we can’t wait for you to experience. Tickets for the event will be $125 per person with an optional spirit pairing for an additional $50.

The Gamekeeper Restaurant and Bar, located between Boone and Blowing Rock NC, is well known for interesting and delicious interpretations of Southern classics. The menu changes seasonally blending the traditional with the exotic, satisfying both meat and veggie lovers. Quality and care is evident in all we produce. The freshest of local ingredients and humanely farm raised meats are served. The knowledgeable staff is fabulous and truly stands behind what they are serving and producing. It is the ultimate marriage of fine dining and comfort food. This is not haute cuisine: you will leave sated and satisfied after your experience. Bar offerings are equally eclectic—Maitre D’ Michael Vinson has curated an extensive wine list and a fun bar menu featuring a colorful array of craft cocktails, after-dinner drinks, local beers, and ciders.

The locally-sourced, seasonably-variable, game-focused menu appeals to the adventurous. Entrées feature emu, bison, venison, elk, salmon, trout, duck, and “Anteloaf”—a game-based meatloaf—and of course a variety of locally-sourced veggies. We smoke, cure, and preserve meats and vegetables on-site, and harvest garnishes and herbs from our own garden. Desserts also reflect our blend of traditional and exotic… bread pudding, gelato, sorbet, and vanilla bean ice cream, among others.

The Award of Excellence is given to restaurants offering well-curated lists with approximately 90 selections or more. These lists feature quality producers and wines that diners wouldn’t easily find at local wine stores and drink at home. These wine selections also match the restaurant’s cuisine in both style and pricing, giving guests a well-rounded experience. More…
