Woolly Worm Festival

Banner Elk hosts the Woolly Worm Festival usually falling on the third weekend in October

Location: Banner Elk Elementary School, downtown Banner Elk.

Crafts, food, mountain music and the world famous caterpillar races to determine which woolly worm will have the honor of predicting the winter weather forecast. Festival is from 10am to 5pm each day.
